Why TCPA Compliance Matters

You’ve probably heard us tout our TCPA compliance and you know it’s something you’re supposed to look for when you’re looking for a company to handle your collection calls, but do you ever ask, “What is TCPA compliance, and why does it matter?”

TCPA stands for the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991. It updated the Communications Act of 1934 to bring protections up to date with modern technology, as much had changed in the communications industry over the roughly six decades. The TCPA has been updated a few times since then.

The main purpose of the TCPA is to protect people from being inundated with unsolicited phone calls, particularly from telemarketers and companies using automated dialing systems. Specifically, it limits the hours of the day calls can be made, limits automated messages (including calls, faxes, and text messages), requires callers to honor the National Do Not Call Registry, makes solicitors identify themselves, and sets penalties for those who violate the rules.

TCPA compliance is something The FCC takes very seriously, as each individual violation can cost between $500 and $1500. With fines like that, it’s easy to see how companies have been hit with multi-million dollar fines before. How would your company fare having to pay a penalty like that?

That’s where Astra Global comes in. If we are not TCPA compliant, we have no business, so we bend over backwards to make strictly adhere to TCPA guidelines whether you’re outsourcing your collections, warm transfers, or skip tracing to us. What this means to you, as a business owner, is that when you hire Astra Global you don’t have to worry about keeping up with TCPA regulations, because we have that covered for you.

If you have any questions about any other benefits of outsourcing your collections process to Astra Global, or if you’re ready to start saving money and becoming more efficient, call us now at 866-823-1670 or email us here.
